2 Popular Frozen Breakfast Items Just Recalled Due To Trace Undeclared Peanuts

Breakfast may be the most essential meal of the day, but you may want to skip two things. Two items from Nature's Path Organic Foods may contain undeclared peanuts.

Those with peanut or nut allergies should avoid Nature's Path Organic Foods' Organic Pumpkin Spice and Organic Dark Chocolate Chip Waffles.

A manufacturing fault might contaminate two batches. Both are available in 6-waffle packets in the freezer department of your local grocery store.

If you're scared you bought recalled products, check the product details on the bottom of each box. The best-before date for Nature's Path Organic Pumpkin Spice Waffles is Oct. 24, 2023.

The UPC is 0 5844959077 4 and the lot code 2C110242. Organic Dark Chocolate Chip Waffles have a best-before date of Oct. 26, 2023, lot number 2C110262, and UPC 0 5844916701 3.

If you buy potentially problematic items, you may return them to the store for a refund or call Nature's Path at 1-866-880-7284 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PST) or email ConsumerServices@naturespath.com.

The recall may be risky for anyone with nut allergies, even if no major responses have been documented. About 4.6 million Americans have peanut allergies.

The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology reports "mild reactions to severe anaphylaxis" among nut allergy sufferers. In severe circumstances, this may kill.

Indeed, "the allergies are believed to be responsible for more deaths from anaphylaxis—an immediate physiological response involving

low blood pressure, shock and tightness of the airways—than any other kind of allergy, though the exact number is not known."

Allergies and sensitivities to nuts necessitate avoiding contaminated foods, such as the Nature's Path Organic Foods recall.
