American Airlines is considering summer international flight expansion. This involves applying to the US Department of Transportation to become the only major airline to fly nonstop from JFK to Tokyo Haneda.
Numerous flights to Tulum's new airport (TQO) are part of the development. American expects the most U.S.-Tulum flights in March.
“American continues to improve our comprehensive global network with more nonstops to destinations our customers want to visit,” said Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning Brian Znotins.
The airline really hopes its Tokyo service application gets accepted. Daytime flights between New York and Tokyo will begin if allowed. For Tokyo-Asia connections, American and Japan Airlines codeshare.
American Vice President of Regulatory and International Government Affairs Molly Wilkinson stated, “American looks forward to presenting our competitive application to provide new and enhanced service to Tokyo's convenient Haneda Airport.”
JFK to Tokyo joining American's Dallas-Fort Worth and Los Angeles flights offers an East Coast gateway for Haneda flights and gives the biggest metropolitan region in the U.S. additional alternatives for travel to one of the world's most significant business centers.
American will add service to Bridgetown, Barbados; Liberia, Costa Rica; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Guatemala City; San Jose, Costa Rica; and six more Caribbean destinations from those three airports.
