– 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
– 2 onions, finely chopped
– 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1-inch ginger, grated
– 2 green chilies, slit lengthwise (adjust to taste)
– 1/2 cup plain yogurt

Heat oil or ghee in a large pan or skillet over medium heat. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and bay leaf.

Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and slit green chilies. Saute for another 2 minutes.

Add chopped tomatoes to the pan and cook until they soften and release their juices.

Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder to the pan. Mix well and cook for a minute.
