Chipotle Brings Back Carne Asada For a Limited Time

The Cali-Mex fast-casual brand announced the reintroduction of carne asada to U.S. and Canadian menus for a limited time. Enjoy burritos, tacos, bowls, and more.

Carne asada (grilled or roasted beef) is a thin cut of flank, flap, or skirt steak marinated in spices, lime juice, and salt, cooked and diced for stuffing.

Chipotle marinates beef, grills it with cumin, coriander, and oregano, and tops it with lime and cilantro. The result is a colorful, rich protein that is Whole30-approved and ketogenic and paleo-friendly.

Chipotle's 2019 addition of carne asada to its menu of grilled chicken, braised barbacoa, shredded carnitas, and sliced steak was a hit.

The restaurant estimates that 10 million people tried carne asada upon its introduction, with 50% being first-time Chipotle customers.

Compared to four years ago, Chipotle now offers a protein-specific quesadilla on its menu. For a fajita quesadilla, Chipotle offers three sides and Monterey Jack cheese.

Customers may add grilled vegetables. The head chef dunks the quesadilla in cilantro-lime rice, black beans, and sour cream.

Knowing it's part of the chain's environmental and ethical sourcing efforts. The vegetarian beef used in its carne asada is antibiotic- and hormone-free.

Chipotle is working with cattle farmers to build a strong supply chain that matches its "Food with Integrity" philosophy.

Chipotle is giving free delivery on any carne asada orders made via the app or website from September 14 to October 1. Grilled fajita, burrito, taco, or bowl sounds perfect.
