Frontier Airlines will boost its Midwest service early next year. The ultra-low-cost airline announced intentions to open a crew base at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) in March 2024 this week. It is offering $29 flights to its 17 new destinations from CLE to celebrate.
This strategic initiative is projected to produce 110 pilot, 250 flight attendant, and 50 aircraft maintenance jobs in the first year. With airport employment, ‘America's Greenest Airline’ is expected to contribute roughly $80 million to local salaries yearly, with significant expansion in the future years.
Frontier was the fastest-growing airline at CLE, increasing passenger capacity by 53% in the last year, before unveiling its new hub in the ‘Rock 'n' Roll Capital of the World’. It operates 17 nonstop itineraries from Cleveland this winter, more than any other carrier.
“We’re excited to partner with the Ohio community as we continue to expand our operation at CLE and bring meaningful economic impact to the area through new jobs,” Frontier Airlines CEO Barry Biffle said.
As a crew base supports seamless flight operations, it benefits consumers. Our expanded crew base shows our commitment to expansion at CLE as we deliver more ‘Low Fares Done Right’ to region residents.”
Frontier is hiring flight attendants as part of the expansion. Flight attendants interested in joining Frontier Airlines may apply online or during a Cleveland recruiting event in January 2024.
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays until December 20, 2023, nonstop flights between Cleveland (CLE) and Atlanta (ATL) cost $29 during the deal. Customers must book before 11:59 p.m. ET on November 20 to get these discounted fares.
Frontier's travel club, Discount Den, offers amazing rates on one-way flights from Cleveland to Las Vegas, Orlando, Denver, San Diego, San Juan, and more for $19 and up on its Cleveland flight deals website.
