Here's How You Can Score Free Refills From Starbucks

Starbucks aficionados may be skeptical of free refills. For years, social media has spread misinformation about Starbucks' refill policy.

Some TikTokers say you may receive a free refill at a Target Starbucks after shopping.

Some think the strange free refill policy applies to all Starbucks stores, not just Target ones.

The worker explained the policy in the video, which has over nine million views. Before you hurry to your local store for a second Cinnamon Caramel

The most essential rule is that consumers can only get a free refill on a drink if they buy it using a registered Starbucks Card or the Starbucks app,

according to the Starbucks website. Requesting a refill requires the same Starbucks Card or Starbucks account in the app as the original transaction.

Second, the refill may not be the same drink you ordered. For instance, you cannot order a second Pink Drink or one of the controversial Oleato

olive oil-infused lattes. If you bought these or other drinks, you can get a free refill of regular brewed hot or iced coffee, cold brew, hot or iced tea.

Third and last, you must request your refill within the same retail visit. The policy allows customers to get a free refill if they finish a drink

before leaving the business. Starbucks customers who buy a drink in the morning, leave, and return later won't get a free refill.
