LATAM carriers Group said that its available seats per kilometer (ASK, or available seats per mile as assessed by US carriers) increased by 14.9% from October 2022 to October 2023.
It naturally followed a 31.2 percent rise in the number of seats available on overseas flights. It is the highest level of ASK since February 2020. These findings were complemented by an 87.8 percent load factor in that section.
Overall, capacity in the international market climbed by 39.8 percent in the first ten months of 2023 compared to the same time in 2022, matching a 41.9 percent growth in demand.
The number of passengers carried in October climbed by 13.2 percent compared to the same time in 2022, reaching 6.4 million, with 1.2 million corresponding to foreign operations, representing a 38.4 percent rise compared to October 2022.
Translation? Passengers will come if there is a space for them to sit, which is in high demand.
Year to far, the total number of passengers carried has surpassed 60 million, an increase of 18.1% over the January-October 2022 period.
Passenger traffic in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) climbed by 18.1 percent in October compared to the same month in 2022, with international routes increasing by 32.8 percent.
It didn't hurt that LATAM just increased its collaboration with Delta.
