Popeyes is renowned for its bone-in fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, and Louisiana-style sides, but it now wants to be your go-to location for another chicken dish.
Popeyes stated that it would permanently serve crispy chicken wings statewide. Five wing variants with varied heat levels are available today.
The chain added Ghost Pepper Wings in May and Sweet 'N Spicy Wings in July. The other three—Roasted Garlic Parmesan, Honey BBQ, and Signature Hot—are new.
Popeyes North America President Sami Siddiqui revealed in a May earnings conference that Ghost Pepper Wings sold out in two weeks during a January limited-time debut months before they entered the regular menu.
"At Popeyes, we like to challenge the status quo and are consistently redefining fast food expectations," Siddiqui stated Nov. 22. "Ghost Pepper Wings sold out fast, followed by Sweet 'N Spicy Wings, our greatest seller since the Chicken Sandwich.
Popeyes' staff spent three years constructing this wing lineup. All Popeyes wings are marinated, hand-battered, breaded, and seasoned.
The new Roasted Garlic Parmesan Wings include caramelized garlic, parmesan, and asiago cheeses, while the Honey BBQ Wings have tamarind, honey, and molasses. Popeyes' Classic spicy Wings come with "just a touch of southern sweetness," their Cajun spicy sauce.
Popeyes has issued various "DISScount codes" to mark the launch, including STOPWINGS, NOTTHATWILD, OPENSUNDAY, and ONLY1WINGSFLVR, which seem to target its largest chicken wing rivals. Customers may get a free six-piece with a $10 purchase with these digital coupons starting Nov. 27.
