Why is Angel Reese benched? What we know about LSU star as she misses another game

It all began on November 6 when Colorado humiliated LSU, the nation's top-ranked team heading into the season, in the squad's opening game.

The game wasn't as close as the final score suggests, as the Tigers fell 92-78. Reese finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds, although he only made 6 of 15 field goals and missed some close shots. She was obviously frustrated the entire time.

Three games later, on November 14, Reese was benched by LSU coach Kim Mulkey during the Tigers' 109-79 victory over Kent State in the second half.

Reese scored 11 points in just 13 minutes of action that evening. Mulkey provided minimal explanation following the game, stating that the decision to bench Reese in the second half was made "by the coach."

When Reese did not play in the 73-50 victory over Southeastern Louisiana on November 17, three days later, speculation regarding his absence intensified. Not on the bench was she. Mulkey again declined to provide information about Reese.

During her press conference after the game, Mulkey stated, "It's very obvious Angel was not in uniform."

"We expect to see Angel sooner rather than later as she is a member of our basketball squad. I will no longer be responding. That is all. Is that all you require to know, please?

What precisely is happening is unknown. Mulkey has not stated whether Reese was just benched or has been placed on the team, if there is an official suspension in place, or whether she is receiving penalty for an injury.
